Bond performance between textile reinforced concrete (TRC) and brick masonry under conventional environment

Yin Shiping et al.

Summary: The interfacial bonding properties between textile-reinforced concrete (TRC) and masonry substrate were analyzed in this study. The results showed that coated-carbon textile had the best bond properties, while textile slippage from the matrix was the most common failure mode.

Theoretical analysis of the adhesion law of stainless steel FRCM strengthening systems

Emanuela Speranzini et al.

Summary: FRCMs are a type of structural reinforcement that use a fibre mesh or fabric embedded in a cement-based or lime-based matrix to reinforce concrete and masonry structures. This study conducted traction-shear tests to evaluate the fracture behavior of the reinforcement at different bonded lengths, and developed a theoretical adhesion law based on the experimental results.

Diagonal tensile tests on historical brick masonry wallets strengthened with fabric reinforced cementitious mortar

Pelin E. Mezrea et al.

Summary: Masonry structures are a significant part of historical building stock worldwide, but they are vulnerable to extreme loading conditions such as seismic actions. Strengthening of historical masonry is necessary to withstand severe loads, with fabric reinforced cementitious matrix proving to be effective in increasing shear strength, stiffness, and dissipated energy. The experimental study in this paper investigates the efficiency of FRCM system through diagonal tension tests, revealing the positive impact of different types of plasters, fibers, and anchors on the masonry wallets.
