Knowledge-based engineering approach for defining robotic manufacturing system architectures

Chen Zheng et al.

Summary: Robotic manufacturing systems are an effective solution for modern manufacturing enterprises to address customer demands and market competition. However, these systems may not fully satisfy user requirements due to differences between user and design perspectives. A user-customised design approach is needed to alleviate the burden on designers. The authors propose a knowledge-based engineering method to aid users in customising the architectures of robotic manufacturing systems.

A fractal-theory-based multi-agent model of the cyber physical production system for customized products

Wei Wu et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a low-complexity and flexible smart fractal factory (SFF) operation model, which achieves precise control and close collaboration for customized products through intelligent coordination and autonomous optimization. The model utilizes fractal theory to describe the multi-scale self-similarity of structural characteristics and the operation mode of the smart manufacturing system. By leveraging agent modeling technology, distributed resources are intelligently encapsulated into smart manufacturing units that can autonomously optimize and collaborate, transforming the multilayered architecture of traditional factories into an intelligent collaboration architecture based on fractal clusters in the industrial Internet environment.

Command Authentication Using Multiagent System for Attacks on the Economic Dispatch Problem

Jun Yen Siu et al.

Summary: Over the past decade, cyberattacks on the electricity grid have increased and had severe impacts on grid operation. These attacks are becoming more intelligent and can bypass existing protection protocols, causing the system to operate suboptimally and suffer economic losses. Thus, it is crucial to develop tools to defend against such attacks. In this article, a novel command authentication strategy is proposed to detect and mitigate false data injection attacks targeting the system's centralized economic dispatch control signals. The proposed technique shows high accuracy in detecting and mitigating these attacks.

Choquet integral optimisation with constraints and the buoyancy property for fuzzy measures

Gleb Beliakov et al.

Summary: This work focuses on solving optimization problems using the Choquet integral as the objective function, which allows for interaction between coalitions of decision variables. Efficient solution approaches are proposed for problems with a large number of variables, leveraging the antibuoyancy property and extending it to general fuzzy measures. Theoretical results are supported by numerical experiments, showing significant performance gains and scalability to a higher number of variables.

Stochastic multi-attribute acceptability analysis with numerous alternatives

Shiling Song et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a novel algorithm to efficiently run SMAA procedure on large data sets by dividing the large alternative set into small groups based on the relationships of alternatives. The method achieves the holistic acceptability of alternatives by studying their relationships, and is validated on simulated and real-world data sets in the express industry.

Exploring the Intensity of Relationships with Vocational Education Centres: A Typology of Spanish SMEs

Cristina Lavia et al.

Summary: This study examines the intensity of relationships between industrial SMEs and vocational education centers, identifying eight organizational profiles associated with different levels of relationships. The results show that most industrial SMEs maintain relations with vocational education centers, with the highest level of relations involving SMEs with experience in external cooperation, vocational education graduates in technical areas, and larger in size. Collaboration between SMEs and vocational education centers depends on the existence of an established culture of innovation among smaller firms.
