Mode Selection and Resource Allocation for D2D Communications With Tradeoff of Throughput and User Satisfaction

Xiukui Li et al.

Summary: This paper studies the mode selection and resource allocation scheme for D2D communications under cellular networks to achieve a balance between throughput and user satisfaction. By using an offline channel state information model and defining a resource assignment priority, along with the application of the differential evolution algorithm, it is possible to improve the level of user satisfaction in the system.

Defense of Advanced Persistent Threat on Industrial Internet of Things With Lateral Movement Modeling

Jichao Bi et al.

Summary: In this article, the vulnerability of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) to advanced persistent threats (APT) is investigated. A scenario is studied where APT is launched to attack IIoT devices. A node-level state evolution model is established to calculate the probability of compromise for each device in an IIoT system. A Stackelberg game model is proposed for the APT attacker and defender to accurately describe the gaming process. An effective computational approach is developed to obtain the potential Stackelberg equilibrium strategy pair of the game. Extensive case studies and comparison studies are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Security aspects of device-to-device (D2D) networks in wireless communication: a comprehensive survey

Angshuman Khan et al.

Summary: As trillions of wireless gadgets become connected to billions of people, the spectrum is at risk of becoming overloaded. Device-to-device (D2D) wireless communication provides a solution by allowing data transmission between nearby devices. However, without security measures, the quality of service may be disrupted by security attacks, hindering the expansion of D2D. This work examines the security features of D2D communication, offering a comprehensive review of existing solutions and identifying future directions to address security threats and challenges.

An adaptive social-aware device-to-device communication mechanism for wireless networks

Feras Zen Alden et al.

Summary: Device-to-Device (D2D) communication is an essential element in 5G networks and beyond. The objective of this research is to design an adaptive social-aware D2D communication mechanism to improve D2D connection performance. The proposed mechanism includes peer and mode selection schemes based on social choice theory and multi-attribute evaluation. Experimental results show that the proposed mechanism out-performs other approaches in terms of delay, signal-to-noise ratio, delivery ratio, and throughput.

Social Interaction and Information Diffusion in Social Internet of Things: Dynamics, Cloud-Edge, Traceability

Yinxue Yi et al.

Summary: The Social Internet of Things integrates social networks and the Internet of Things, facilitating interactions between things, people, and between people and things, resulting in a wealth of information that holds hidden value for social administration and people's lives. Characterizing the interplay between behavior spreading and information diffusion is crucial in predicting and managing information in SIoT. A cloud-edge-aided information diffusion model and a blockchain-based cloud-edge SIoT architecture are proposed for efficient interactions and enhanced security of information diffusion.
