Modified wave operators for the Wave-Klein-Gordon system

Zhimeng Ouyang

Summary: We study a simplified model for the global nonlinear stability of the Minkowski space-time for self-gravitating massive fields by considering a coupled Wave-Klein-Gordon system in 3D. The large-time asymptotic behavior of solutions to such systems is investigated and modified wave operators are proven for small and smooth data with mild decay at infinity. The key novelty lies in the observation that the asymptotic dynamics are determined by the resonant interactions.

Nonlinear stability of self-gravitating massive fields. A wave-Klein-Gordon model

Philippe G. LeFloch et al.

Summary: Significant progress has been made in understanding the global evolution of self-gravitating massive matter near Minkowski spacetime. A new approach called the Euclidean-hyperboloidal foliation method has been developed to investigate the interaction between a Klein-Gordon equation and Einstein's field equations. This article provides an overview of the method and presents a complete proof for a wave-Klein-Gordon model capturing key challenges of the Einstein-matter system.

Modified Wave Operators for a Scalar Quasilinear Wave Equation Satisfying the Weak Null Condition

Dongxiao Yu

Summary: We have proven the existence of modified wave operators for a scalar quasilinear wave equation that satisfies the weak null condition. This was achieved through three steps: deriving a new reduced asymptotic system, constructing an approximate solution based on scattering data at infinite time, and demonstrating that the system has a global solution agreeing with the approximate solution at infinite time.

Asymptotics for 1D Klein-Gordon Equations with Variable Coefficient Quadratic Nonlinearities

Hans Lindblad et al.

Summary: This study investigates the asymptotic behavior of small solutions to one-dimensional Klein-Gordon equations with variable coefficient quadratic nonlinearities. It discovers a striking resonant interaction between specific spatial frequencies of the variable coefficient and the temporal oscillations of the solutions, leading to a novel type of modified scattering behavior. Sharp decay estimates and asymptotics are established in both resonant and non-resonant cases.

Scattering from Infinity of the Maxwell Klein Gordon Equations in Lorenz Gauge

Lili He

Summary: This study demonstrates the global existence method by using scattering data for the Maxwell Klein Gordon equations at infinity, while also providing asymptotic properties of the solution at different boundaries. By introducing refined results, a global solution that satisfies the prescribed scattering data is found.

Global solution for Massive Maxwell-Klein-Gordon equations with large Maxwell field

Allen Fang et al.

Summary: The authors derive the global dynamic properties of the mMKG system with a general class of data, particularly for Maxwell fields of arbitrary size, by using a gauge independent method. Despite the expected critical slow decay of the Maxwell field, the scalar field experiences a loss of decay at causal infinities within an outgoing null cone. Through uncovering a hidden cancellation contributed by the Maxwell equation, the authors are able to obtain precise control of the Maxwell field under low regularity assumptions on data. This method may also be applicable to other physical field equations, such as the Einstein equations, where a similar cancellation structure can be observed.
