A new correlation for accurate prediction of oil formation volume factor at the bubble point pressure using Group Method of Data Handling approach

Mohammed Abdalla Ayoub et al.

Summary: This study used the Group Method of Data Handling (GMDH) to predict the oil formation volume factor (FVF) at the bubble point pressure based on gas solubility, reservoir temperature, oil API gravity, and gas specific gravity. The proposed correlation was validated against seven other correlations in the petroleum industry and proved to accurately predict the oil FVF with an average absolute percentage error of 1.333% and a correlation coefficient of 0.995.

Apparent and plastic viscosities prediction of water-based drilling fluid using response surface methodology

Fahd Saeed Alakbari et al.

Summary: This study introduces new statistical-based empirical correlations for the prediction of apparent and plastic viscosities in drilling fluids, emphasizing the importance of monitoring these properties during drilling operations. The established correlations demonstrate robustness and high accuracy through Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and ANOVA validation, showing the influence of independent variables and interactions between them on the viscosities. The results suggest that the RSM model is accurate, reliable, and suitable for precise prediction of apparent and plastic viscosities.
