A qualitative study of the development and utilization of health facility-based immunization microplans in Uganda

Summary: This study compares two districts in Uganda to explore factors associated with suboptimal development and use of microplans for routine immunizations. The research reveals significant knowledge gaps among health workers at different levels, complexity of the microplanning tool, and challenges faced by overtasked health personnel. Improvement of the microplanning process is necessary to enhance routine immunization coverage in Uganda.

Challenges and opportunities for use of long-lasting insecticidal nets to prevent malaria during overnight travel in Uganda: a qualitative study

Summary: The study found that many travelers in Uganda lack knowledge about the use of long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs), with main reasons including limited access, inadequate planning, limited space, doubts about effectiveness, and cultural beliefs. To address these issues, there should be increased educational campaigns to raise awareness and promote effective use of LLINs among travelers.
