Resonant leptoquark at NLO with POWHEG

Luca Buonocore et al.

Summary: Recent progress in calculating lepton density functions inside the proton and simulating lepton showers has paved the way for studying resonant leptoquark production at hadron colliders. In this work, the first Monte Carlo event generator for simulating this process has been developed, allowing for the study of all scalar leptoquark models with renormalizable quark-lepton interactions. Comprehensive studies of differential distributions, including higher-order effects, and assessments of theoretical uncertainties have been performed. The improved predictions have also been quantified for their impact on projected sensitivities at the (HL-)LHC and their potential at the FCC-hh.

Leptoquark-vectorlike quark model for the CDF mW, (g-2)μ, RK(*) anomalies, and neutrino masses

Talal Ahmed Chowdhury et al.

Summary: This paper discusses some drawbacks of the Standard Model and proposes a model consisting of two scalar leptoquarks and a vectorlike quark to explain the observed deviations in W-boson mass, (g-2)mu, and neutral current transitions in B-meson decays. The proposed model also provides an explanation for the origin of neutrino mass and can be fully tested at future colliders.

Interpreting the W-mass anomaly in vectorlike quark models

Junjie Cao et al.

Summary: The new measurement of W-boson mass by the CDF collaboration shows a significant discrepancy with the predictions of the Standard Model. If confirmed by other experiments, this discrepancy strongly suggests the existence of new physics beyond the Standard Model. In this study, seven vectorlike quark extensions of the Standard Model are investigated, and it is found that three of them can explain the anomaly in a wide parameter space.

Measurement of the Positive Muon Anomalous Magnetic Moment to 0.46 ppm

B. Abi et al.

Summary: The experiment presented the first results of the Fermilab National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL) Muon g - 2 Experiment for the positive muon magnetic anomaly a(mu) (g(mu) - 2)/2, which determined the anomaly from precision measurements of two angular frequencies. The result showed a deviation of 3.3 standard deviations from the standard model prediction, in agreement with previous measurements, increasing the tension between experiment and theory.

Correlating h → μ+ μ- to the Anomalous Magnetic Moment of the Muon via Leptoquarks

Andreas Crivellin et al.

Summary: Recent measurements by ATLAS and CMS have provided evidence of the standard model Higgs boson decaying into two oppositely charged muons, indicating coupling to second generation fermions. The findings challenge explanations for lepton flavor universality violation and offer opportunities to explore new physics. Additionally, investigations into leptoquark models reveal enhanced effects in the h -> mu(+)mu(-) decay mode while addressing a(mu) explanations.

New physics explanations of aμ in light of the FNAL muon g-2 measurement

Peter Athron et al.

Summary: The Fermilab Muon g -2 experiment's measurement of the anomalous magnetic moment has significant implications for physics beyond the Standard Model, with constraints on models explaining large deviations and the need for considerations of mass, coupling, and chirality. It excludes many models and highlights the importance of specific parameter ranges in explaining the results.

Radiative neutrino masses, lepton flavor mixing and muon g - 2 in a leptoquark model

Di Zhang

Summary: The proposed leptoquark model uses two scalar leptoquarks to explain neutrino masses, lepton flavor mixing, and the muon g - 2 anomaly while satisfying constraints from the radiative decays of charged leptons. The neutrino mass matrix possesses an approximate mu-tau reflection symmetry, with (M-nu)(ee) = 0 only in favor of the normal neutrino mass ordering, and the model successfully explains the muon g - 2 anomaly and current experimental neutrino oscillation data.

Muon g-2 in two-Higgs-doublet models with vectorlike leptons

Radovan Dermisek et al.

Summary: This study investigates the contributions to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon from heavy neutral and charged Higgs bosons and new leptons in two-Higgs-doublet models. Results show that the model motivated by a Z(2) symmetry can generate significantly larger contributions compared to the standard model, while the model motivated by supersymmetry typically leads to smaller contributions. Moreover, interesting scenarios are identified where contributions from the charged Higgs boson can fully explain the anomaly.
