Spin transport in a normal metal-Ising superconductor junction

Yi-Xin Dai et al.

Summary: This study theoretically investigates the unconventional spin-triplet correlation in Ising superconductors and reveals the existence of spin superconductivity in Ising superconductors. The transport process in a normal metal-Ising superconductor junction is analyzed, showing the contribution of equal-spin Andreev reflection and spin-flip reflection. The findings broaden the scope of spin superconductivity and suggest potential applications of Ising superconductors in spintronics.

Valley-controlled transport in graphene WSe2 heterostructures under off-resonant polarized light

M. Zubair et al.

Summary: We investigate the electronic dispersion and transport properties of graphene/WSe2 heterostructures in the presence of spin-orbit coupling, sublattice potential, and off-resonant circularly polarized light. We find that the interplay between different perturbation terms leads to inverted spin-orbit coupled bands. At high intensity of the off-resonant light, the inverted band structure transfers into the direct band structure. The valley-Hall conductivity behaves as an even function of the Fermi energy and switches sign when the polarization of the off-resonant light changes. The valley polarization and corresponding spin polarization are affected by the presence of the off-resonant light. Furthermore, the charge Hall conductivity is finite and changes sign with the handedness of the light polarization.

Phase diagrams and edge-state transitions in graphene with spin-orbit coupling and magnetic and pseudomagnetic fields

Yu -Chen Zhuang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the evolution of edge states between three peculiar topological insulating phases in graphene. The phase diagrams show that the real magnetic field and the pseudomagnetic field compete above the SOC energy gap, while the QSH effect is almost unaffected within the SOC energy gap. The transitions of edge states directly depend on the arrangement of the zeroth Landau levels. By utilizing these edge-state transitions, a spin-FET-like device and a spintronics multiple-way switch are proposed.

Equal-spin and oblique-spin crossed Andreev reflections in ferromagnet/Ising superconductor/ferromagnet junction

Wei-Tao Lu et al.

Summary: We studied the subgap transport in a ferromagnet/Ising superconductor/ferromagnet junction and found that the crossed Andreev reflection (CAR) and local Andreev reflection (LAR) strongly depend on the spin-polarized ferromagnet, magnetization direction, and Ising superconducting phase. For the same magnetization directions, equal-spin CAR can occur due to the spin-flip mechanism induced by the Ising spin-orbit coupling and equal-spin-triplet pairing. Both equal-spin CAR and equal-spin LAR show remarkable magnetoanisotropy with a period of pi and oscillatory behavior with chemical potential. The equal-spin CAR is more prominent with half-metal ferromagnet and double-band Ising superconductor while normal CAR is completely suppressed. In the case of different magnetization directions, oblique-spin CAR occurs with a magnetoanisotropic period of 2pi. The oblique-spin CAR process involves spins of the electron and hole that are neither parallel nor antiparallel. Furthermore, the property of oblique-spin CAR is very sensitive to the spin and valley degrees of freedom. Spin- and valley-polarized CAR can be achieved and controlled by the chemical potentials and magnetization directions.

Two-fold symmetric superconductivity in few-layer NbSe2

Alex Hamill et al.

Summary: Research shows that in few-layer NbSe2, there is a superconducting state with a two-fold rotational symmetry different from the lattice's three-fold symmetry, attributed to Ising spin-orbit coupling. Both the magnetoresistance and critical field exhibit this two-fold symmetry in the superconducting state.

Magnetic Field-Induced Mirage Gap in an Ising Superconductor

Gaomin Tang et al.

Summary: Superconductivity is usually destroyed by a magnetic field due to pair breaking, but spin-valley locking in a two-dimensional superconductor with spin-orbit interaction can make the superconducting state resilient to large magnetic fields. The interaction of in-plane magnetic field and Ising spin-orbit coupling results in noncollinear effective fields, leading to the emergence of mirage gaps in the spectrum. These mirage gaps are signatures of equal-spin triplet finite-energy pairing correlations and are sensitive to intervalley scattering.

Controlling charge and spin transport in an Ising-superconductor Josephson junction

Gaomin Tang et al.

Summary: This study investigates a Josephson junction formed by proximitized Ising superconductors with ferromagnetic layers, leading to highly tunable spin-triplet pairing correlations and modulation of charge and spin supercurrents. The charge current can be switched by changing the alignment of the in-plane exchange fields, and a pi state can be achieved. Additionally, the charge and spin current-phase relations exhibit phi 0-junction behavior with a strongly spin-polarized FM barrier.

Electrical control of crossed Andreev reflection and spin-valley switch in antiferromagnet/superconductor junctions

Wei-Tao Lu et al.

Summary: In this study, subgap transport through AF/S and AF/S/AF junctions controlled by electric field in a buckled honeycomb system was investigated. The spin-valley polarized half-metallic phase and pure crossed Andreev reflection were achieved due to spin-orbit coupling, with the possibility of generating the pure CAR without AR and EC. A spin-valley switch effect could be realized by adjusting the electric field, and the properties of AR and CAR processes strongly depended on the spin-valley polarized states. The device could potentially be used for electrical measurement of the CAR process and spin-valley switch.
