Ali M. Abou-Elanwar et al.

Summary: In this study, ultrathin double network (DN)-coated hollow fiber membranes were developed to enhance water vapor permeation of polymeric membranes. Different DN systems were investigated, and membranes with higher concentration of quaternized hyperbranched polyethyleneimine (QHPEI) showed the best performance. Relative humidity had a positive impact on membrane performance, while temperature and pressure had negative effects.

MXene-regulation polyamide membrane featuring with bubble-like nodule for efficient dye/salt separation and antifouling performance

Yuanyuan Wang et al.

Summary: This study focuses on improving the performance of nanofiltration (NF) membranes for removing salt from dye/salt mixtures. By introducing two-dimensional MXene Ti3C2Tx into the polyamide (PA) layer using interfacial polymerization (IP) technique, a novel thin-film nanocomposite NF membrane was created. The addition of MXene enhanced the reaction rate and resulted in a unique nanostructure of the PA layer, leading to membranes with high permeability and selectivity. The MXene-assisted IP strategy also improved the membrane's antifouling performance.

Chao Xing et al.

Summary: In this study, a graphene oxide membrane with tunable interlayer distance was fabricated for effective dye separation and desalination in saline textile wastewater treatment. The membrane achieved high dye rejection rates (>99%) and low salt rejection rates (<6.5%) in the first filtration stage, while demonstrating a desalination rate of up to 51.8% in the second stage. The membrane also showed excellent practical advantages such as high permeability, antifouling performance, and stability, with the potential for regenerating dye and producing clean water through multistage filtration systems.
