Self-assembly of 3p-Block Metal-based Metal-Organic Frameworks from Structural Perspective

Qiao Junyi et al.

Summary: Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are porous inorganic-organic hybrid materials with highly ordered pore structures and tailored functionalization, making them suitable for various applications. 3p-block metal (Al, Ga, and In)-based MOFs exhibit higher chemical stability compared to transition metal-based MOFs. This review mainly discusses the construction units, coordination types, and numbers of organic ligands in Al-MOFs and In-MOFs, providing guidance for the design and synthesis of novel 3p-block metal-based MOFs with potential applications.

A Multinary Metal-Organic Framework with Divided Linkers for C2H2/CO2 Separation

Bin Zhang et al.

Summary: This study introduces a method to construct metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with tailored pores and well-positioned adsorption sites using divided linkers. The resulting MOF exhibits high C2H2 adsorption capacity and preferential adsorption of C2H2 over CO2.

Heterometallic Actinide-Containing Photoresponsive Metal-Organic Frameworks: Dynamic and Static Tuning of Electronic Properties

Corey R. Martin et al.

Summary: Acquiring fundamental knowledge of properties of actinide-based materials is crucial for addressing challenges in nuclear energy and waste sectors. In this study, a correlation between photophysics and electronics in actinide-containing metal-organic frameworks was established for the first time, allowing for dynamic modulation of electronic properties. The construction of a photochromic MOF-based field-effect transistor demonstrated the potential for light-induced changes in current, enabling the operation of a fail-safe indicator circuit.
