Co@C core-shell nanostructures anchored on carbon cloth for activation of peroxymonosulfate to degrade tetracycline

Rational design of CoxMn3-xO4 embedded carbon composites from MOF-74 structure for boosted peroxymonosulfate activation: A dual pathway mechanism

Summary: In this study, Spinel structured CoxMn3-xO4 nanoparticles embedded carbon composites (CoxMn3-xO4-C) were designed and prepared using Co/Mn bimetallic metal organic frameworks (MOFs) as the template. Among them, Co1.5Mn1.5O4-C showed the highest degradation efficiency and could completely degrade BPA within 3 minutes. Furthermore, Co1.5Mn1.5O4-C exhibited limited leaching of Co2+ in the Co1.5Mn1.5O4-C/PMS system. The research revealed that hydroxyl radical and singlet oxygen were the main active species in the reaction system, contributing to a dual pathway mechanism for BPA degradation. Additionally, Co1.5Mn1.5O4-C showed promising recyclability in different water matrices.

The enhanced catalytic degradation of sulfamethoxazole over Fe@nitrogen-doped carbon-supported nanocomposite: Insight into the mechanism

Co/N co-doped carbonaceous polyhedron as efficient peroxymonosulfate activator for degradation of organic pollutants: Role of cobalt

Enhancing peroxymonosulfate activation by Co-Fe layered double hydroxide catalysts via compositing with biochar

In this study, biochar (BC) was composited with CoFe layered double hydroxide (CoFe-LDH) to achieve enhanced PMS activation. The synergistic effect between BC and CoFe-LDH resulted in improved catalytic activity and stability, leading to higher production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the BC-LDH/PMS system. The degradation efficiency of dimethyl phthalate (DMP) was significantly higher in the BC-LDH/PMS system compared to the CoFe-LDH/PMS system, reaching 100% within 60 minutes.

Synthesis of nZVI-Ni@BC composite as a stable catalyst to activate persulfate: Trichloroethylene degradation and insight mechanism

Summary: The study shows that the nZVI-Ni@BC composite material performs well in activating PS to degrade chlorinated contaminants in water, achieving over 99% TCE degradation. The experimental results also indicate that in acidic environments, both SO4·- and OH· radicals play a dominant role in TCE degradation, while high levels of carbonates, bicarbonates, and NOM inhibit the oxidation reaction of TCE.
