Comparative study of manganese oxides with different oxidation states for catalytic carbonylation of n-butylamine by CO2

Dalei Sun et al.

Summary: Four manganese oxides (MnO, MnO2, Mn2O3, Mn3O4) were synthesized with different oxidation states and investigated for their catalytic performances in the carbonylation of n-butylamine by CO2. MnO2 showed the highest catalytic activity with a yield of 91.60% for N,N'-dibutylurea using PEG 400 as solvent under the reaction conditions of 160 degrees C, 4 h, and 5.0 MPa. Characterization results indicated that the oxygen vacancy content on the surface of manganese oxides played a key role in the catalytic performances of the carbonylation reaction.

Photothermal Cocatalytic Carbonylation of Isobutyl Amine with CO2 over Bi2O3 Polymorphs under Visible-Light Irradiation

Dalei Sun et al.

Summary: Effective capture and utilization of CO2 is critical for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving a low-carbon economy. In this study, bismuth oxides with different crystallized phases (alpha, beta, delta, gamma) were synthesized and used as photo, thermal, and photothermal catalysts for the carbonylation of isobutyl amine with CO2. The results showed that the alpha-Bi2O3 exhibited the highest catalytic performance, with a conversion of 50.38% and a selectivity of 91.79% for N,N'-diisobutylurea. Further characterization of Bi2O3 polymorphs revealed that the differences in photothermal catalytic activity could be attributed to the efficiencies of photoinduced carriers separation.

Reagent-and solvent-mediated Fe2O3 morphologies and electrochemical mechanism of Fe2O3 ???????supercapacitors

Authit Phakkhawan et al.

Summary: A solvothermal technique was used to synthesize nine different morphologies of ferric oxide. Among them, the flower-shaped ferric oxide exhibited the highest specific capacitance, pore volume, and specific surface area. The flower-shaped ferric oxide film maintained a relatively high performance after 1000 cycles. Supercapacitor coin cells constructed from the flower-shaped ferric oxide anode and MnO2 cathode showed excellent energy density and power density.

New Undisputed Evidence and Strategy for Enhanced Lattice-Oxygen Participation of Perovskite Electrocatalyst through Cation Deficiency Manipulation

Xiaomin Xu et al.

Summary: Research has shown that utilizing the lattice oxygen-mediated mechanism (LOM) can enhance the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) activity of doped perovskite catalysts. By using a dopant-free cation deficiency manipulation strategy, the diffusion properties of perovskites can be tailored to study the contribution of LOM to OER catalysis.

MnO2 polymorphs for catalytic carboxylation of 1-butanamine by CO2

Dalei Sun et al.

Summary: The study investigated the catalytic carbonylation of 1-butanamine by CO2 over MnO2 heterogeneous catalysts and found that the lattice structure of MnO2 oxides significantly impacts the catalytic activity. Among the four polymorphs of MnO2, delta-MnO2 showed the most favorable catalytic activity due to its high surface basicity from the concentration of lattice oxygen on its surface. Enhancing surface basicity and defect concentration are crucial for developing superior MnO2-based catalysts for the green synthesis of N,N'-dibutylurea.
