Modulating Electronic Structure with Copper Doping to Promote the Electrocatalytic Performance of Cobalt Disulfide in Li-O2 Batteries

Shengqi Ding et al.

Summary: Introducing heteroatom into the lattice of catalysts is an efficient approach to enhance the electrocatalytic performance in Li-O-2 batteries. In this study, Cu-doped CoS2 nanoparticles were synthesized and evaluated as cathode catalysts for Li-O-2 batteries. The doping of Cu heteroatom in the CoS2 lattice was found to increase the covalency of the Co-S bond, resulting in less electron transfer to Li-O species and improving the catalytic performance. The battery using Cu-CoS2 nanoparticles showed superior kinetics, reversibility, capacity, and cycling performance compared to the battery using CoS2 catalyst.

Ultrasensitive near-infrared aptasensor for enrofloxacin detection based on wavelength tunable AgBr nanocrystals electrochemiluminescence emission triggered by O-terminated Ti3C2 MXene

Ding Jiang et al.

Summary: This study presents the preparation of well-dispersed AgBr nanocrystals decorated Ti3C2 MXene nanocomposites (Ti3C2-AgBrNCs) using a simple wet chemical technique, which exhibited highly efficient near-infrared electrochemiluminescence (ECL) emission. The ECL emission wavelength of Ti3C2-AgBrNCs was found to be tunable by varying the Ti3C2 content, and Ti3C2-AgBrNCs showed higher ECL intensity and more stable ECL signal compared to pure AgBr NCs. A direct-type near-infrared ECL aptasensor was constructed using Ti3C2-AgBrNCs as the ECL platform and enrofloxacin (ENR) as the model analyte, demonstrating high sensitivity, a wide linear range, and a low detection limit.

Identifying Luminol Electrochemiluminescence at the Cathode via Single-Atom Catalysts Tuned Oxygen Reduction Reaction

Hongyin Xia et al.

Summary: In this study, the relationship between intrinsic oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity and electrochemiluminescence (ECL) behavior was explored using single-atom catalysts (SACs). By combining electrochemical ORR catalyzed via SACs and chemical oxidation of luminol, the traditionally neglected cathodic ECL emission of luminol was significantly enhanced. This work is important for guiding the development of an amplified sensing platform through rational tailoring of the ORR activity of SACs and potential-resolved ECL assays based on high-efficiency cathodic ECL.
