In-situ construction of Au/Cu2O nanowire arrays for sensitive glucose sensing

Summary: In this study, novel three-dimensional hybrids based on Au and Cu2O were successfully synthesized. The Au/Cu2O nanowire arrays exhibited high catalytic activity, excellent selectivity, stability, and reproducibility in glucose electro-oxidation reactions. The sensor also demonstrated the capability for quantitative detection of glucose levels in diluted human serum.

Synthesis and comparison study of electrochemiluminescence from mononuclear and corresponding heterodinuclear Ir-Ru complexes via an amide bond as a bridge

Summary: A study was conducted to design and synthesize mononuclear iridium-based and ruthenium-based complexes with amine and carboxylic acid groups respectively, as well as a heterodinuclear complex with an amide bond bridge. The photophysical and electrochemical properties and electrochemiluminescence performances of these complexes were characterized under different experimental conditions. The results of this comprehensive comparison study provide insights into the design of bimetallic multicolor luminophores at the molecular level, contributing to a better understanding of the emission performances of bimetallic complexes and the rational design of efficient organometallic luminophores with multicolor emission for various applications in the future.

Summary: A sensitive electrochemiluminescence (ECL) biosensor based on a newly synthesized cyclometalated iridium(III) complex ((bt)(2)Irbza) was developed for miRNA detection, providing ultrahigh sensitivity with a detection limit of 82 aM. The ECL intensity of (bt)(2)Irbza was significantly enhanced by the oxidative-reductive behavior, showing 16.7 times relative efficiency compared to a commercial [Ru(bpy)(3)](2+) under the same conditions, thereby demonstrating promising potential for biosensing applications.

Electrochemistry and Electrochemiluminescence of Coumarin Derivative Microrods: Mechanism Insights

Summary: This study selected C545T as a new ECL illuminant and synthesized organic microrods of C545T for ECL detection in aqueous solution. Cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry of C545T and C545T MRs showed multiple oxidation peaks, indicating that the multiple charge states of C545T could be produced by continuous electron- or hole-injection processes. The ECL system with C545T MRs/TEOA showed intense yellow emission with high selectivity and sensitivity for dopamine detection.

Facile Encapsulation of Iridium(III) Complexes in Apoferritin Nanocages as Promising Electrochemiluminescence Nanodots for Immunoassays

Summary: Water-soluble electrochemiluminescence (ECL) nanodots were prepared by encapsulating ECL-active iridium complexes in biocompatible horse spleen apoferritin (apoHSF) nanocages for immunoassays. The ECL efficiency of the nanodots could be optimized by investigating the electrochemistry and oxidative-reductive ECL mechanisms with the use of tri-npropylamine (TPrA) as a coreactant. The well-inherited biological functions of apoHSF allowed for the convenient external modification of an antibody to establish a versatile ECL immunoassay paradigm, enabling rapid and accurate detection of biomarkers in real samples.
