Interplay of Pd ensemble sites induced by GaOx modification in boosting CO2 hydrogenation to formic acid

Kohsuke Mori et al.

Summary: The interfacial modification of Pd nanoparticles supported on g-C3N4 using highly dispersed amorphous MOx phase enhances the activity of the catalyst in the hydrogenation of CO2. Particularly, Pd@GaOx/CN exhibits a maximum turnover number of 4540, which is more than six times higher than the unmodified catalyst. Based on kinetic and theoretical investigations, a reasonable dual activation mechanism is proposed.

Morphology-engineered highly active and stable Pd/TiO2 catalysts for CO2 hydrogenation into formate

Jing Zhang et al.

Summary: The effects of Pd catalysts supported on different exposed facets of anatase TiO2 nanocrystals on the hydrogenation of CO2 to formate were investigated. It was found that the 2%Pd/TiO2 {1 0 0} catalyst exhibited high activity and stability, with a high turnover frequency and stability. This can be attributed to the higher density of moderate basic sites and higher oxygen vacancy concentration on the TiO2 {1 0 0} surface, which promote the activation of CO2 and H-2, and the formation of stable Pd particles.
