Atom-dispersed Au combined with nano-Au on halloysite nanotubes with closo-dodecaborate promotes synergistic effects for enhanced photocatalysis

Xuefan Deng et al.

Summary: By ingeniously combining halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) with the dodecahydro-closo-dodecaborate anion, high catalytic activity and selectivity of Au single-atom catalysts were achieved. The HNT@B12H12@Au catalyst showed excellent photocatalytic selective reduction activity for nitrobenzene compounds, efficiently converting them to corresponding azobenzenes.

Boron clusters as broadband membrane carriers

Andrea Barba-Bon et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that globular dodecaborate clusters can function as anionic inorganic membrane carriers for a wide range of hydrophilic cargo molecules. These carriers have the potential to transport peptides, amino acids, neurotransmitters, vitamins, antibiotics, and drugs across liposomal membranes, and affect the cytosolic uptake of various small bioactive molecules.

Boosting the electrocatalytic HER performance of Ni3N-V2O3 via the interface coupling effect

Peng Zhou et al.

Summary: The construction of a suitable coupling interface is essential for improving the performance of high-efficient electrocatalysts. In this study, a Ni3N-V2O3 composite was designed and synthesized, showing excellent electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) performance. The introduction of V2O3 led to a confinement effect and interface coupling effect, which greatly increased catalytic sites and improved performance.
