Preparation of porous polyamide 6(PA6)membrane with copper oxide (CuO) nanoparticles selectively localized at the wall of the pores via reactive extrusion

Tianqi Liang et al.

Summary: In this study, CuO nanoparticles were pre-modified with styrene-maleic anhydride copolymers (SMAs) of different molecular weights and MAH contents. The modification process allowed for most of the added nanoparticles to be located at the interface of PA6 and SEBS. A porous polymer membrane with CuO nanoparticles located at the pore walls was obtained after treatment. This study presents a feasible and direct method for the preparation of porous polymer membranes with functional nanoparticles.

FTIR, Weight, and Surface Morphology of Poly(vinyl chloride) Doped with Tin Complexes Containing Aromatic and Heterocyclic Moieties

Anaheed A. Yaseen et al.

Summary: The study investigates the effectiveness of trimethoprim-tin complexes as PVC additives, showing that the complexes lower both photodecomposition and photo-oxidation levels in PVC films exposed to ultraviolet irradiation compared to blank films. The aromaticity of the additives plays a key role in their photostabilizing effects, with the complex containing three phenyl groups attached to the tin cation exhibiting the most stabilizing effect on PVC. Various mechanisms have been proposed to explain the role of the synthesized complexes in PVC photostabilization.
