Mechanism of SO3/H2SO4 transformation and reduction in wet flue gas desulfurization systems

Yuzhong Li et al.

Summary: The study found that in wet flue gas desulfurization systems, H2SO4 exists in both gaseous and aerosol forms at the inlet, and undergoes transformation in the scrubber. The amount of H2SO4 in aerosol form increased while the vapor form decreased, with demisters being more effective in reducing H2SO4 than droplets.

Preparation and toughening mechanism of Mo2NiB2-based cermets with SiC whiskers

Xue Zhang et al.

Summary: Mo2NiB2-based cermets with 0.5 wt% SiCw exhibit improved mechanical properties, including hardness, transverse fracture strength, and indentation fracture toughness. The addition of SiC whiskers can effectively enhance the wear resistance and reduce the friction coefficient of the cermets in sliding friction tests.SEM observation and analysis show that the toughening mechanism of the cermets is mainly due to whisker bridging, crack deflection, microcrack toughening, and whisker pull-out.

Effect of impact angle on wear behavior of Mo2NiB2-Ni cermets with different Ni content

Lei Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, the wear behavior of Mo2NiB2-Ni cermets was studied under different impact angles and Ni contents using a slurry of artificial seawater and SiO2 sands. The research revealed that material loss was mainly due to wear damage caused by SiO2 sands, and the relative density of cermets significantly affected their resistance to wear damage.

Study on characteristics of organic components in condensable particulate matter before and after wet flue gas desulfurization system of coal-fired power plants

Siqi Liu et al.

Summary: The study found that wet flue gas desulfurization in coal-fired power plants has a significant impact on the particle size, concentration, and chemical composition of particulate matter, with a high removal efficiency of inorganic components in CPM. CPM contains various organic compounds, with esters being an important component that tends to decrease in concentration after wet flue gas desulfurization. Additionally, fatty acid methyl esters account for a higher contribution to the concentration of particulate matter in CPM compared to phthalate esters, while wet flue gas desulfurization has a stronger control effect on the removal of phthalates.

Fracture behaviors of Ti(C, N)-based cermets with different contents of metal binder

Weicai Wan et al.

Summary: The microstructure and fracture characteristics of Ti(C, N)-based ceramics with different Ni binder contents were investigated. Increasing the Ni binder improves the flexural strength and fracture toughness of the ceramics, and the rim-core interfaces have an atomic coherent relationship. With the increase in binder content, the solid solution strengthening effect diminishes and the fracture mechanism shifts towards plastic deformation and tearing of the metal binder.

Lianhui Li et al.

Summary: In this experiment, a layer of Zn film was prepared on the surface of WE43 alloy using FCVA equipment, and the effect of deposition time on the corrosion resistance of the film was studied. The results showed that the film deposited for 800 seconds exhibited the best corrosion resistance with a dense structure and fewer defects.

Interstitial nitrogen enhances corrosion resistance of an equiatomic CoCrNi medium-entropy alloy in sulfuric acid solution

Igor Moravcik et al.

Summary: The nitrogen-alloyed variant of the CoCrNi MEA exhibits higher corrosion resistance, while both nitrogen-free and nitrogen-doped MEAs show lower corrosion current and rates compared to 316L steel. The addition of nitrogen significantly improves the pitting corrosion resistance of CoCrNiN.
