Study of dielectric properties of CaCu3Ti4O12 synthesized via different routes: Effect of sintering temperature

Neelam Kumari et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the dielectric performance of calcium copper titanate (CCTO) synthesized through different methods. The effect of sintering temperature on dielectric, structural, and morphological properties is discussed. X-ray diffraction spectroscopy confirms the presence of Im3 space group and body centered cubic structure. The results show that a temperature of 950 degrees C is suitable for synthesizing the oxide. The use of oxalate co-precipitation and sono-chemical techniques leads to significant enhancement in dielectric performance at high sintering temperature.

Colossal dielectric properties of Na1/3Ca1/3Sm1/3Cu3Ti4O12 ceramics: Computational and experimental investigations

Jakkree Boonlakhorn et al.

Summary: A modified sol gel technique was used to synthesize a high dielectric ceramic, Na1/3Ca1/3Sm1/3Cu3Ti4O12, with a body-centered cubic (bcc) crystal structure. The ceramic exhibited high dielectric permittivity and low loss tangent. DFT calculations suggested an excess Cu concentration due to substitution of Na ions at Cu sites, leading to the formation of metastable insulating phases.

Optimize the dielectric properties of CaCu3Ti4O12 ceramics by adjusting the conductivities of grains and grain boundaries

Wentao Hao et al.

Summary: Introducing carbon into CCTO ceramics can improve their capacitance and grain boundary resistance, thereby reducing dielectric loss. Annealing treatment can further increase the grain boundary resistance, leading to a significant reduction in dielectric loss.

Computational and experimental investigations of the giant dielectric property of Na1/2Y1/2Cu3Ti4O12 ceramics

Jakkree Boonlakhorn et al.

Summary: A modified sol-gel method was successfully used to produce Na1/2Y1/2Cu3Ti4O12 ceramics with high dielectric permittivity. These ceramics exhibit low loss tangent and two distinct thermally induced dielectric relaxations, attributed to oxygen vacancy and grain boundary/sample-electrode contact effects. Y and Na ions occupy specific lattice sites, leading to the observation of Cu-related phases at grain boundaries. The enormous dielectric permittivity of the ceramics primarily comes from the internal barrier layer capacitor effect.

Computational and experimental investigations of the giant dielectric property of Na1/2Y1/2Cu3Ti4O12 ceramics

Jakkree Boonlakhorn et al.

Summary: A modified sol-gel method was used to successfully produce Na1/2Y1/2Cu3Ti4O12 ceramics with high dielectric permittivity. The dielectric permittivity of Na1/2Y1/2Cu3Ti4O12 ceramics reaches values larger than 10(4) at room temperature and 1 kHz. Moreover, these ceramics exhibit two distinct thermally induced dielectric relaxations over a broad temperature range. The primary cause of the enormous dielectric permittivity of Na1/2Y1/2Cu3Ti4O12 ceramics primarily comes from the internal barrier layer capacitor effect.

Investigating the Correlation between the Microstructure and Electrical Properties of FeSbO4 Ceramics

Carlos G. P. Moraes et al.

Summary: In this study, FeSbO4 powder was prepared using the solid-state reaction method and dense and porous ceramics were obtained through calcination and sintering. The results showed that the microstructural factors of grain size and porosity play a critical role in the electrical and dielectric properties.
