Excellent energy storage performance of niobate-based glass-ceramics via introduction of nucleating agent

Changshuai Liu et al.

Summary: The collaborative optimization of BDS and permittivity is crucial for improving the energy storage density in glass-ceramics. By introducing ZrO2 as a nucleating agent in BPKNAS glass-ceramics, high permittivity and dense microstructure were achieved. BPKNAS-1.5ZrO(2) glass-ceramics demonstrated the highest theoretical energy storage density, excellent temperature stability, and ultrahigh power density, making it highly competitive in energy storage applications.

Summary: The study investigates the effect of different (Sr, Ba)/Nb ratios on the properties of SrO-BaO-Nb2O5-SiO2 glass-ceramics. It was found that changes in phase composition and microstructure led to fluctuations in dielectric constant and breakdown strength, with the optimal sample (S5) achieving a discharge energy density of 1.14 J/cm3.

4-inch Ternary BiFeO3-BaTiO3-SrTiO3 Thin Film Capacitor with High Energy Storage Performance

Panpan Lv et al.

Summary: By using a chemical route involving alternative coating layers of relaxor ferroelectric and paraelectric materials, a BiFeO3-BaTiO3-SrTiO3 film was successfully fabricated via element interface diffusion. The optimized layer thickness resulted in improved energy density and high efficiency in the film. This fabrication technique has the potential for large-area dielectric film production with incompatible elements.
