Near-Infrared Long Afterglow in Fe3+-Activated Mg2SnO4 for Self- Sustainable Night Vision

Minzhong Li et al.

Summary: The advent of near-infrared (NIR) afterglow in Cr3+-doped materials has generated significant interest for technological applications. However, the development of Cr3+-free NIR afterglow phosphors with high efficiency, low cost, and precise spectral tunability remains a challenge. In this study, a Fe3+-activated NIR long afterglow phosphor composed of Mg2SnO4 (MSO) is reported, which exhibits a high-efficiency NIR afterglow with a record persistent time lasting over 31 hours among Fe3+-based phosphors.

Valence Disproportionation of GeS in the PbS Matrix Forms Pb5Ge5S12 Inclusions with Conduction Band Alignment Leading to High n-Type Thermoelectric Performance

Zhong-Zhen Luo et al.

Summary: This study optimized the electrical and thermal transport properties of PbS-based compounds by alloying with GeS, leading to improved performance in converting waste heat into electricity. The addition of GeS triggered a complex cascade of beneficial events, resulting in increased power factor and electron mobility, as well as decreased lattice thermal conductivity. The highest performance was achieved with 14% GeS-alloyed samples, demonstrating a potential for significant global energy savings.

Entirely Reversible Photochromic Glass with High Coloration and Luminescence Contrast for 3D Optical Storage

Heping Zhao et al.

Summary: A new entirely photostimulation-induced reversible photochromic glass, doped with lanthanide ions and silver chloride (RE-Ag glass), was explored in this study. It achieved reversible photochromism and luminescence modification from transparent to black under the alternating stimulation of specific wavelengths of light. The glass also showed good rewritability and re-erasability, making it suitable for double-model 3D optical storage.
