Lightweight Triboelectric Nanogenerators Based on Hollow Stellate Cellulose Films Derived from Juncus effusus L. Aerenchyma

Qi Chen et al.

Summary: This study presents a facile method for synthesizing cellulose films using hollow stellate cellulose (HSC) from wetland weed. The triboelectric polarities of HSC films are controlled by adjusting the content of silane coupling agents. By coating Ag nanowire electrodes on one side of the HSC friction layers, flexible and lightweight HSC-TENGs with high output voltage are obtained. The optimized HSC-TENG is applied as a wearable self-powered sensor for gait analysis, demonstrating stable and sustainable performances.
