The Safety of Dronabinol and Nabilone: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Clinical Trials

Akos Bajtel et al.

Summary: This study systematically evaluated the frequency of adverse events related to dronabinol or nabilone treatment compared to placebo. The results showed that both drugs were associated with higher risk of drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, and headache compared to placebo. These adverse effects were generally mild-to-moderate and transient. However, more studies are needed to provide a more accurate assessment of the side effect profiles of these two compounds.

Perspectives of pediatric oncologists and palliative care physicians on the therapeutic use of cannabis in children with cancer

Sapna Oberoi et al.

Summary: Most pediatric oncologists and palliative care physicians recognize a potential role for cannabis in symptom control in children with cancer, although only a small number believe cannabis may be beneficial for cancer itself. They desire more information about dosing, side effects, and safety of cannabis, and emphasize the importance of research on cannabis for symptom relief.

The Role of Cannabinoids as Anticancer Agents in Pediatric Oncology

Clara Andradas et al.

Summary: The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a crucial signaling pathway system modulated by cannabinoids, which have shown efficacy against adult cancer. However, there is limited research on their effects in pediatric cancers. Cannabinoids influence various biological effects and demonstrate potential anti-cancer activity, but there is a lack of data on their impact in children's cancers.
