MYB pathways that regulate UV-B-induced anthocyanin biosynthesis in blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum)

Yan Song et al.

Summary: UV-B promotes the accumulation of anthocyanin and improves fruit quality in plants. Through transcriptome sequencing analysis and weighted gene co-expression network analysis, it was found that VcMYBA2 and VcMYB114 were upregulated and positively correlated with anthocyanin structural genes under UV-B radiation. The VcUVR8-VcCOP1-VcHY5 pathway enhances anthocyanin accumulation by upregulating VcMYBA2 and VcMYB114 or regulating the VcBBXs-VcMYB pathway. In contrast, VcMYB4a and VcUSP1 were downregulated under UV-B treatment, and VcMYB4a repressed UV-B-induced anthocyanin accumulation through the VcUSP1-VcMYB4a pathway.

The photomorphogenic repressors BBX28 and BBX29 integrate light and brassinosteroid signaling to inhibit seedling development in Arabidopsis

Jing Cao et al.

Summary: The photomorphogenic repressors BBX28 and BBX29 integrate light and brassinosteroid signaling by promoting BR-ENHANCED EXPRESSION transcriptional activity to precisely regulate seedling development. BBX28 and BBX29 physically interact with BEE1, BEE2, and BEE3 to enhance their binding to and activation of target genes, thus participating in the coordination of light and BR signaling.

BBX24 Interacts with DELLA to Regulate UV-B-Induced Photomorphogenesis in Arabidopsis thaliana

Yuewei Huang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the crosstalk between GA and UV-B signaling pathways in UV-B-induced photomorphogenesis. It is found that DELLA acts as a positive regulator in UV-B-induced photomorphogenesis. Additionally, the HY5-BBX24-DELLA module is identified as an important signal regulating network.

UV-B induces the expression of flavonoid biosynthetic pathways in blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum) calli

Yan Song et al.

Summary: Ultraviolet-B (UV-B) radiation promotes the accumulation of flavonoid metabolites in plants, leading to improved fruit quality. Transcriptome analysis and gene co-expression network analysis revealed that UV-B radiation affects plant hormone signal transduction, phenylpropanoid and flavonoid biosynthetic pathways. Specific transcription factors were identified as activators or inhibitors of flavonoid biosynthesis.

PIF3/HY5 module regulates BBX11 to suppress protochlorophyllide levels in dark and promote photomorphogenesis in light

Nikhil Job et al.

Summary: The PIF3/HY5 module antagonistically regulates protochlorophyllide synthesis in the dark, with the B-BOX protein BBX11 acting downstream to modulate gene expression. BBX11 directly influences the greening ability of seedlings exposed to light, while also impacting protochlorophyllide accumulation and photobleaching. The expression of BBX11 is regulated by both PIF3 and HY5, highlighting its importance in balancing plant growth in dark and light conditions.
