Mineral residue accelerant-enhanced anaerobic digestion of cow manure: An evaluation system of comprehensive performance

Summary: Anaerobic digestion is an efficient technology for treating biowaste and generating biogas. This study established a comprehensive evaluation system to assess the performance of anaerobic digestion based on five dimensions. The system was applied to evaluate a case study using industrial waste residues as mineral accelerants and found improved energy output, degradation efficiency, and safety and fertility of the digestate. This work provides a reliable methodology for evaluating and comparing different accelerants in biogas projects with cow manure.

Dual utilization of aloe peel: Aloe peel-derived carbon quantum dots enhanced anaerobic co-digestion of aloe peel

Summary: This study investigates the effect of aloe peel-derived carbon quantum dots (AP-CQDs) on the anaerobic co-digestion system of aloe peel and dairy manure. Enhanced methane production in anaerobic co-digestion systems with modified black phosphorus

Summary: The use of black phosphorus and black phosphorus modified by hydrogen peroxide as accelerants in microbial electrolysis cells coupled with anaerobic co-digestion systems can enhance methane production and carbon dioxide reduction. The MEC-AcoD system with a voltage of 0.6 V and 0.03 wt.% of MBP accelerant showed the highest methane yield (242.1 mL/g VS) and the lowest carbon dioxide yield (97.6 mL/g VS). The digestates using this accelerant exhibited superior thermal stability (46.2%) and total nutrient contents (44.5 g/kg).

Summary: The MXene@PDDA/CC anode, with high conductivity, superhydrophilicity, and biocompatibility, facilitates the enrichment of electrochemical active bacteria and improves the efficiency of EET process in MFCs. It can achieve remarkable power output and satisfactory effluent removal efficiency under an external series resistance of 1 kΩ, with a maximum output voltage of 585 mV and a maximum power density of 811 mW m(-2). The efficiencies of methyl orange decolorization and chemical oxygen demand removal can reach 79% and 84% after 12 hours of operation.
