LA VEGETACION DE LAS MONTANAS DE CORDOBA (ARGENTINA) A COMIENZOS DEL SIGLO XXI: UN MAPA BASE PARA EL ORDENAMIENTO TERRITORIAL

Ana M. Cingolani et al.

Summary: This study aims to create a vegetation map of the Córdoba mountains and describe the distribution of different vegetation classes along the elevation gradient. The results show that scrublands are the most widespread vegetation class, covering 37% of the landscape, while native forests only occupy 5.5% of the area. The study suggests that land use planning should prioritize the restoration of native forests, control urban expansion and crop cultivation, and manage invasive alien species.
