Sustainable pest control inspired by prey-predator ultrasound interactions

Summary: The study found that ultrasonic waves at frequencies of 39.5 kHz and 37.5 kHz had more significant repellent effects on male and female moths respectively. Additionally, the ultrasonic treatment with a frequency of 375 kHz caused substantial reductions in many biological parameters of the pests and induced the moths to escape from the ultrasound. These findings can potentially lead to the development of ultrasonic repellents for use in sugarcane fields.
