Novel enzymatic graphene oxide based biosensor for the detection of glutathione in biological body fluids

Summary: In this study, a novel enzymatic biosensor based on GSH-Px, GO, and nafion was developed for the electrochemical sensing of GSH in body fluids. The biosensor showed improved detection sensitivity and reliability, successfully used for the determination of GSH in real samples.

Prediabetes and risk of mortality, diabetes-related complications and comorbidities: umbrella review of meta-analyses of prospective studies

Summary: The term prediabetes refers to individuals with impaired glucose metabolism who have not yet reached the glucose or HbA(1c) levels required for a diabetes diagnosis. A systematic review of meta-analyses found that prediabetes is associated with an increased risk of all-cause mortality and various diabetes-related complications, including cardiovascular outcomes, cancer, and dementia. More high-quality studies on HbA(1c)-defined prediabetes and other relevant health outcomes are needed to further support these findings.
