Analytical Model of Disk Evaporation and State Transitions in Accreting Black Holes

Hyerin Cho et al.

Summary: State transitions in black hole X-ray binaries are likely caused by gas evaporation from a thin accretion disk into a hot corona. The model results are independent of black hole mass, and state transitions should be similar in X-ray binaries and active galactic nuclei. The corona solution consists of two power-law segments, with gas evaporating from the disk for r > r(b) and condensing back for r < r(b).

The Young Stars in the Galactic Center

Sebastiano D. von Fellenberg et al.

Summary: In this study, we conducted a large spectroscopic survey of the Galactic Center using the SINFONI IFU at the VLT. By analyzing the spectra of over 2800 stars and using the Bracket-gamma absorption lines, we identified 195 young stars and extended the known list of young stars. We introduced an isotropic cluster prior to explore the angular momentum distribution of the young stars and found significant differences between the observed distribution and an isotropic cluster. We also confirmed the previously reported warp of the clockwise disk and discovered two new overdensities of angular momentum.

Effects of Turbulence in the Circumnuclear Disk

Cuc K. Dinh et al.

Summary: Research indicates that transient arcs of gas can naturally arise in the Galactic Center due to turbulent disruptions, but this does not imply that the circumnuclear disk (CND) itself is a transient structure. Additionally, density concentrations similar to clumps observed in literature may be an artifact of observational limitations.

Revealing the Physical Conditions around Sgr A* Using Bayesian Inference. I. Observations and Radiative Transfer

Tomas A. James et al.

Summary: Subarcsecond ALMA observations towards Sgr A*'s circumnuclear disk reveal significant gas emission, with variations in temperature and density identified across the regions. Unusually hot and dense gas sources potentially dominated by turbulence were found in the Northeastern Arm, while a cold and extremely dense position was also detected. The total gas mass within the CND was estimated to be less than or similar to 4 x 10^4 M (circle dot), with qualitative evidence of chemical enrichment consistent with grain processing observed on large scales. Further chemical modeling is needed to understand the physical origin of grain processing and localized emissions.

The Circumnuclear Disk Revealed by ALMA. I. Dense Clouds and Tides in the Galactic Center

Pei-Ying Hsieh et al.

Summary: Utilizing the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array, observations of CS line maps were conducted towards the circumnuclear disk and streamers of the Galactic center, revealing compact structures within the CS clouds. The study found that the CS clouds consist of a mixture of warm and cold gas states, with a stability analysis showing that a majority of the gas mass is tidally stable.
