Detection of a High-velocity Jet from MWC 349A Traced by Hydrogen Recombination Line Maser Emission

Sirina Prasad et al.

Summary: MWC 349A is a star with rare hydrogen radio recombination line (RRL) masers. Using ALMA observations, we resolved the H30α and 1.4 mm continuum emission for the first time and found evidence of a high-velocity jet along the polar axis. These masers may originate from a magnetohydrodynamic wind.

Tying the Geometrical Traits of Massive Young Stellar Objects and Their Disks to a Potential Evolutionary Sequence Using Infrared Observations

A. J. Frost et al.

Summary: Young massive stars have significant influence on their surroundings, but high-resolution studies of these objects have been difficult due to observational challenges related to distance and embedded nature. The lack of comparative analyses of massive young stellar object disks hinders our understanding of their evolution. Research shows that MYSO disks with determined geometrical substructure are also spectroscopically more evolved.

Modeling Radio Recombination in MWC 349A. I. Saturation Properties

Hung N. Tran et al.

Summary: Observational and theoretical studies have been conducted on the strong nonlocal thermodynamic equilibrium recombination line emission from the envelope of MWC 349A, providing insights into the physical and kinematic properties of its circumstellar environment. A detailed radiative transfer model has been constructed for the maser lines H26 alpha and H30 alpha, with considerations for maser saturation effects. The modeling results indicate significant saturation effects on H26 alpha and unsaturation for H30 alpha, with the predicted intensities and line shapes matching observational data.

The ALMA Survey of 70 μm Dark High-mass Clumps in Early Stages (ASHES). III. A Young Molecular Outflow Driven by a Decelerating Jet

Daniel Tafoya et al.

Summary: In this study, a spatio-kinematical analysis of CO (J = 2 -> 1) line emission associated with the most massive core, ALMA1, in the 70 mu m dark clump G010.991-00.082 was presented. The physical interpretation of the model suggests a jet that decelerates as it entrains material from the ambient medium, and the age of the outflow is estimated to be approximately 1300 yr after correction for a mean inclination of the system of approximately 57 degrees.

Zooming into the Collimation Zone in a Massive Protostellar Jet

Carlos Carrasco-Gonzalez et al.

Summary: Research on protostellar jets found that low-mass protostars are launched and collimated by X- and/or disk-wind mechanisms, while the origin of jets from more massive protostars is less understood due to difficulties in resolution. Observations of a jet powered by a massive protostar reveal differences in morphology compared to jets from low-mass protostars, suggesting two possible scenarios for their formation.
