The impact of Morse taper implant design on microleakage at implant-healing abutment interface

Soyeon Kim et al.

Summary: This study compared the leakage performance at the implant-healing abutment interface of two types of Morse taper implants. The results showed that the partially face-contact implants are more prone to leakage than the line-contact implants.

Full Arch Implant-Prosthetic Rehabilitation in Patients with Type I Diabetes Mellitus: Retrospective Clinical Study with 10 Year Follow-Up

Bianca D'Orto et al.

Summary: This retrospective clinical study compared the outcomes of full arch implant-prosthetic rehabilitation in healthy patients and patients with type I diabetes. The results showed no significant differences in implant survival rates, marginal bone loss, or clinical and prosthetic complications between the two groups. However, post-surgical bleeding and wound infection were more common in patients with compensated diabetes.

Tilted Implants and Sinus Floor Elevation Techniques Compared in Posterior Edentulous Maxilla: A Retrospective Clinical Study over Four Years of Follow-Up

Gherlone Enrico Felice et al.

Summary: The aim of this study was to evaluate the survival rate, bone loss, and complications of implants placed through sinus elevation and tilted implants in basal bone. The results showed that tilted implants had a higher survival rate and lower bone loss. However, no significant differences were found between the groups.

Assessment of the Tissue Response to Modification of the Surface of Dental Implants with Carboxyethylphosphonic Acid and Basic Fibroblastic Growth Factor Immobilization (Fgf-2): An Experimental Study on Minipigs

Javier Aragoneses et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of treating dental implants with carboxyethylphosphonic acid and fibroblast growth factor 2 on the bone-implant interface in vivo using an animal model. Significant difference was found in the cortical bone contact, suggesting that FGF-2 may play a role in bone mineralization. However, no significant differences were observed in new bone formation or bone density around the implants. Biofunctionalization of implant surface with FGF-2 accelerated mineralization at the cortical level, potentially reducing the osseointegration period.
