Efficacy of polyvalent vaccine on immune response and disease resistance against streptococcosis/lactococcosis and yersiniosis in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)

Summary: This study evaluated the immunogenic efficiency of polyvalent streptococcosis/lactococcosis and yersiniosis vaccines in rainbow trout through injection and immersion methods. The results showed that the immunized groups had a significant increase in weight gain compared to the control group (P < 0.05). The relative survival percentage after challenge with different bacteria also increased significantly in the injection and immersion groups (P < 0.05). Immune indicators such as antibody titer, complement, and lysozyme activity were significantly higher in the immunized groups compared to the control group (P < 0.05). In conclusion, both injection and immersion methods have significant effects on immune protection and survival rate, but the injection method is more effective and suitable.
