Anti-viral activity of methyl 1-chloro-7-methyl-2-propyl-1h-benzo[d] imidazole-5-carboxylate against white spot syndrome virus in freshwater crab (Paratelphusa hydrodromous)

K. Karthikeyan et al.

Summary: White spot syndrome virus (WSSV) causes significant economic losses in shrimp farming. In this study, the anti-viral activity of methyl 1-chloro-7-methyl-2-propyl-1h-benzo[d] imidazole-5-carboxylate (C13H15N2O2Cl) against WSSV was determined in freshwater crabs. The synthetic compound demonstrated significant anti-viral activity, as confirmed by molecular-based techniques.

RNA Nanovaccine Protects against White Spot Syndrome Virus in Shrimp

Yashdeep Phanse et al.

Summary: In the past 15 years, crustacean fisheries have suffered significant economic losses due to viral diseases. No effective measures are available to prevent or control these outbreaks. However, a double-stranded RNA-based nanovaccine shows promise for controlling infectious diseases in aquaculture.
