Rapid In-Situ Synthesis and Patterning of Edge-Unsaturated MoS2 by Femtosecond Laser-Induced Photo-Chemical Reaction

Yinuo Xu et al.

Summary: Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) is widely used in various applications due to its unique optoelectrical and chemical characteristics. In this work, a single-step femtosecond laser-induced photochemical method is proposed for the fabrication of microscale MoS2 patterns with high efficiency. The method enables the synthesis of MoS2 at a rate 2 orders of magnitude faster than existing methods, while maintaining resolution and quality. Additionally, the method is demonstrated for the fabrication of high-sensitivity MoS2-based gas detectors. The proposed method not only offers a cost-effective and precise approach for MoS2 patterns and devices, but also provides potential for other transition metal sulfides and functional materials.

Synthesis of clinoptilolite-supported BiOCl/TiO2 heterojunction nanocomposites with highly-enhanced photocatalytic activity for the complete degradation of xanthates under visible light

Pengfei Zhou et al.

Summary: A novel ternary BiOCl/TiO2/clinoptilolite (BTC) nanocomposite with highly-enhanced photocatalytic activity under visible light was successfully prepared via a facile hydrothermal route, showing excellent adsorption and degradation performance for the target contaminant SIPX. The enhanced photocatalytic activity was mainly attributed to the effective construction of the BiOCl/TiO2 heterojunction and the excellent adsorption ability of the clinoptilolite in the BTC nanocomposites, as confirmed by characterization analysis and experimental results. Radical scavenger tests indicated that superoxide radical anions and photogenerated holes were the dominant active species in the reaction system, suggesting the potential of these novel nanocomposites as efficient photocatalysts for complete degradation of xanthates under visible light.
