Effects of native and H related defects on magnetic properties of SrCoO2.5 and HSrCoO2.5

Gaofeng Teng et al.

Summary: In this study, the stability, defects and their magnetic effects of SrCoO2.5 and HSrCoO2.5 were investigated using first-principles calculations and bond orbital model analysis. The study revealed that H-i, V-O, Co-Sr, and O-i were relatively stable in SCO, while V-H, Co-Sr, H-i, and O-i were relatively stable in HSCO. Notably, a ferromagnetic coupling was discovered in the two V-H configurations only in HSCO, which may explain the weak ferromagnetism observed in HSCO experimentally.

Diffusion Studies of H of Different Charge States and Their Interplay with Co Spin States in SrCoO2.5

Gaofeng Teng et al.

Summary: This study investigates the diffusion pathways of hydrogen atoms in SrCoO2.5 at different charge states using the CI-NEB method. The results show that the charge states of the system strongly affect the diffusivity of hydrogen, the preferred diffusion pathway, and the magnetic fluctuation. Contrary to common belief, in some cases, diffusion of neutral hydrogen may be easier than that of protons.

Kinetic Processes and Surfactant Design of Group I Elements on the CZTS ((112)over-bar) Surface

Kejie Bao et al.

Summary: CZTS is a promising thin-film solar cell material, but its performance is hindered by intrinsic defects and secondary phases. It has been shown that adding Na and K during coevaporation growth can improve grain size and suppress secondary phase formation near the surface, but the underlying reasons are not well understood. First-principles calculations were used to investigate the effects of group I elements on CZTS surfaces, providing insights for designing growth processes.

Solid-State Electrochemical Protonation of SrCoO2.5 into HxSrCoO2.5 (x=1, 1.5, and 2)

Qian Yang et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates solid-state electrochemical protonation of SrCoO2.5 using mesoporous amorphous 12CaO center dot 7Al(2)O(3) (CAN) film as the solid electrolyte. The crystalline phase transitions discreetly from SrCoO2.5 to HSrCoO2.5, H1.5SrCoO2.5, and H2SrCoO2.5 through the formation of an intermediate phase of H1.25SrCoO2.5.
