A Compact Reconfigurable Resonator-Based Direct Current Sensing System

Xuecui Zou et al.

Summary: This paper presents a compact and reconfigurable current readout system based on MEMS resonators. The system generates analog and digital outputs by adjusting the resonant frequency of the microbeam through electrothermal means. Experimental results show a linear relationship between frequency shift and current squared, making the single resonator suitable for high-resolution measurements.

Milliwatt-Scale Body-Heat Harvesting Using Stretchable Thermoelectric Generators for Fully Untethered, Self-Sustainable Wearables

Hyeon Cho et al.

Summary: Stretchable thermoelectric generators (s-TEGs) have been regarded as promising energy harvesters. This study reports strategies to boost thermoelectric performance, enabling wireless communication systems to be powered by body heat with a power generation of 2.6mW. These strategies include the use of electromechanically graded interlayers, solution-based welding, and the inclusion of soft heat conductors. These improvements significantly enhance the power generation capacity of s-TEGs, exhibiting the highest normalized power density among reported high-performance s-TEGs. This research provides realistic solutions for sustainable self-powered electronics.

Micromechanical mode-localized electric current sensor

Han Li et al.

Summary: This paper outlines the design of a novel mode-localized electric current sensor based on a mechanically sensitive element of weakly coupled resonator systems. The sensor converts the test current to voltage through a silicon shunt resistor, causing a stiffness perturbation to one resonator. The mode-localization phenomenon alters the energy distribution, and the sensor has a sensitivity of 567/A, a noise floor of 69.3 nA/root Hz, a resolution of 183.6 nA, and a bias instability of 81.6 nA.
