Spermidine-induced recovery of human dermal structure and barrier function by skin microbiome

Gihyeon Kim et al.

Summary: Research shows that several Streptococcus species improve the structure and barrier function of human skin, contributing to anti-aging. Streptococcus-secreted spermidine accelerates the recovery of skin structure and barrier function by increasing collagen and lipid synthesis in aged cells. This study suggests the potential of skin microbiome for anti-aging applications.
