The spin dynamics of a quantum mechanical spin dimer with exchange and Dzyaloshinsky-Moriya interaction were investigated. The spin dimer exhibits periodic longitudinal relaxation between the initial and inverted spin spiral state. Analytical calculations were performed using a coordinate transfer to local coordinates, while numerical investigations were conducted by solving the Gisin-Schrodinger equation. The effects of damping and an external magnetic field perpendicular to the spiral plane were considered. The distinction between classical and quantum spin states was determined by computing the von Neumann entropy, which characterizes the entanglement change during longitudinal reversal.
The spin dynamics of a quantum mechanical spin dimer with exchange and Dzyaloshinsky- Moriya interaction are investigated. In order to distinguish between classical and quantum spin states, the von Neumann entropy was calculated, which characterizes the entanglement change during the longitudinal reversal.
