Application of green-synthesized carbon dots for imaging of cancerous cell lines and detection of anthraquinone drugs using silica-coated CdTe quantum dots-based ratiometric fluorescence sensor

Arash Mohammadinejad et al.

Summary: A ratiometric fluorescent method using bell pepper-based carbon dots and silica-coated CdTe quantum dots was developed for the detection of daunorubicin and doxorubicin. The method showed a detection limit of 18.53 nmolL-1 and 29 nmolL-1, respectively, and was successfully applied for the detection of drugs in serum samples. In addition, the carbon dots were proven to be non-toxic and suitable for imaging of cancer cell lines.

Aptamer-Based Lateral Flow Assays: Current Trends in Clinical Diagnostic Rapid Tests

Marjan Majdinasab et al.

Summary: The lateral flow assay (LFA) is a widely used paper-based platform for rapid and on-site detection of various analytes. While antibodies are traditionally used in LFAs, they have limitations such as poor stability and high cost, making aptamers a promising alternative for biorecognition molecules in LFAs.

Effective Optical Image Assessment of Cellulose Paper Immunostrips for Blood Typing

Katarzyna Ratajczak et al.

Summary: This article reports on the design and testing of novel high-performance biosensing devices based on a microporous cellulose matrix. Portable paper-based immunostrips were used for in-field blood typing in emergencies requiring blood transfusion, providing a high sensitivity, low cost, and simple operation option. The immunostrips were functionalized with antibodies via supramolecular interactions, enabling determination of all blood types of AB0 and Rh system by naked eye examination.
