Improved Strength and Heat Distortion Temperature of Emi-Aromatic Polyamide 10T-co-1012 (PA10T/1012)/GO Composites via In Situ Polymerization

Yanchao Dong et al.

Summary: An effective method for preparing PA10T/1012/GO composites by pre-dispersion and one-step in situ polymerization was proposed. The interaction between PA10T/1012 grafted graphene sheets and its matrix forms a cross-linked network structure, enhancing the mechanical properties of the composites. Furthermore, the heat distortion temperature (HDT) of the composites is greatly increased due to the cross-linked network structure.

Ionic Liquid-Assisted Fast Synthesis of Carbon Dots with Strong Fluorescence and Their Tunable Multicolor Emission

Mengyan Cao et al.

Summary: In this study, carbon dots (CDs) with an ultrahigh photoluminescent quantum yield were rapidly synthesized at low temperature and pressure with the assistance of an ionic liquid. The approach also allowed for the achievement of tunable multicolor emissive CDs and preparation of high-performance white light-emitting diodes. Theoretical computation revealed the enhancement of synthesis reaction activity by ionic liquids and the effect of CDs' size and graphite nitrogen ratios on bandgap reduction, leading to a redshift in emission wavelength.

Carbon dots and Methylene blue facilitated photometric quantification of Hemoglobin

Sunil Kumar Singh et al.

Summary: A low-cost, portable point of care (POC) device based on the spectrophotometric principle has been developed to quantitatively detect and monitor hemoglobin levels in whole blood. The device utilizes the optical sensitivities of carbon quantum dots (CDs) and the reaction between hemoglobin and the reduced form of Methylene Blue (MBred). The device shows a low limit of detection and has good agreement with clinical data, making it suitable for other quantitative biosensors.
