A new route to fabricate flexible, breathable composites with advanced thermal management capability for wearable electronics

Huibao Chen et al.

Summary: In this study, flexible and breathable composites with advanced thermal management capability were fabricated by coating boron nitride nanosheets layer on the grids of electrospun thermoplastic polyurethane fibrous mats. The composite not only showed significantly enhanced thermal conductivity but also maintained its breathability. When integrated into flexible devices, the composite exhibited a lower saturating operating temperature compared to pure Ecoflex packaging. Furthermore, it showed minimal surface temperature fluctuation during bending-releasing process and remained stable after more than 2000 cycles. A prototype for wearable electronics with advanced thermal management capability was also proposed.
