Significance of intra-nodular vessel sign in differentiating benign and malignant pulmonary ground-glass nodules

Bin-jie Fu et al.

Summary: The study revealed significant differences in size, shape, and internal vascular content between malignant and benign GGNs, with internal vascular presence mainly related to nodule size and distance from the pleura. GGNs with dilated or distorted internal vessels, especially pulmonary veins, have a higher likelihood of malignancy.

Use of CT radiomics to differentiate minimally invasive adenocarcinomas and invasive adenocarcinomas presenting as pure ground-glass nodules larger than 10 mm

Ziqi Xiong et al.

Summary: The study developed a radiomics model based on CT images to differentiate between MIAs and IAs in pGGNs larger than 10 mm, with superior performance compared to a standard CT model. The radiomics model could be useful for clinicians in diagnosis and treatment selection.

Arc concave sign on thin-section computed tomography:A novel predictor for invasive pulmonary adenocarcinoma in pure ground-glass nodules

Gangze Fu et al.

Summary: The study identified the arc concave sign as a reliable predictor of invasiveness in pGGNs, with a stronger association between deep arc concave sign and invasive lesions. Therefore, the presence of arc concave sign on TSCT can effectively distinguish invasive lesions from preinvasive lesions.

Enhancing capsule in hepatocellular carcinoma: intra-individual comparison between CT and MRI with extracellular contrast agent

Roberto Cannella et al.

Summary: This study compared the diagnostic value of contrast-enhanced CT and ECA-MRI in detecting a tumor capsule in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using histopathologic findings as reference. ECA-MRI showed higher sensitivity for detecting the tumor capsule, while CT had better specificity. Capsule enhancement was more frequently visualized on ECA-MRI, with moderate inter-reader agreement for both modalities.

Predicting the histological invasiveness of pulmonary adenocarcinoma manifesting as persistent pure ground-glass nodules by ultra-high-resolution CT target scanning in the lateral or oblique body position

Hua Ren et al.

Summary: This study found that U-HRCT target scanning in the lateral or oblique body position can effectively predict the histological invasiveness of pulmonary adenocarcinoma manifesting as pure groundglass nodules. The maximum diameter and representative attenuation are important predictive factors of invasive pulmonary adenocarcinomas from preinvasive lesions.

Discriminating invasive adenocarcinoma among lung pure ground-glass nodules: a multi-parameter prediction model

Fuying Hu et al.

Summary: This study developed a multi-parameter prediction model to increase diagnostic accuracy in discriminating between IAC and AIS or MIA. The training data set showed that patients with pGGNs ≥10mm had a high incidence of IAC, and the maximal CT value of IAC was significantly higher than MIA and AIS. IAC was more common in pGGNs displaying features like lobulation, spiculation, pleura indentation, vacuole sign, and vessel abnormality.
