Summary: This study investigated the combined effect of omega-3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (EPA and DHA) and cocoa flavanols on cognitive performance and brain structures in older adults with memory complaints. The results showed that this intervention did not improve cognitive outcomes but led to negative effects, such as increased reaction time variability, decreased alertness and executive function, and a decrease in cortical volume.

Summary: This study investigated the validity and reliability of MTA in a memory clinic population, indicating that MTA is correlated with quantitative hippocampal measurements and can distinguish dementia subgroups from cognitively healthy participants. Age-dependent MTA thresholds of 1 and 1.5 were suggested for different age groups.

Subjective cognitive decline: opposite links to neurodegeneration across the Alzheimer's continuum

The level of subjective memory decline was higher in patient groups relative to controls, but similar between patient groups. Voxelwise analyses revealed opposite relationships between the subjective memory decline score and neurodegeneration across the clinical continuum.
