Study on the transmission route of virus aerosol particles and control technology of air conditioning in the enclosed space

Weixue Cao et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the influence of different air conditioning systems on the spread of human exhaled pollutants, finding that the up-to-down system should be closed promptly to prevent cross-infection and the down-to-up system could create a relatively clean air area. However, the down-to-up system may not be the most suitable for individuals exposed to enclosed spaces for long periods.

Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment for Airborne Transmission of SARS-CoV-2 via Breathing, Speaking, Singing, Coughing, and Sneezing

Jack Schijven et al.

Summary: This study assessed the risk of illness due to airborne SARS-CoV-2 particles from breathing, speaking, singing, coughing, and sneezing in indoor environments. The results showed that sneezing had the highest volume of expelled aerosols, while singing became the second highest risk scenario after 2 hours of exposure.

Airborne transmission of respiratory viruses

Chia C. Wang et al.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed critical knowledge gaps in our understanding of traditional respiratory virus transmission pathways, highlighting the need for updates. Improved understanding of aerosol transmission through studies of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection calls for a reassessment of major transmission pathways for other respiratory viruses, enabling better control measures to reduce airborne transmission.
