Bioinspired Meta-Reflection-Splitter for Near-Infrared Laser Stealth with Large Scattering Angle

Xianghui Liu et al.

Summary: A bioinspired strategy is proposed to design a meta-reflection-splitter for laser stealth in the near-infrared range. The reflection splitting effect observed in butterfly wings is utilized to achieve low observability against NIR laser detection. Large-scale meta-reflector-splitters are generated using a simple etching-free approach based on the self-assembly of colloidal particles. This work not only sheds light on the phase manipulation of biophotonic structures but also contributes to advancements in optical materials and devices.

Metal-Semiconductor-Metal Metasurface for Multiband Infrared Stealth Technology Using Camouflage Color Pattern in Visible Range

Jagyeong Kim et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a metal-semiconductor-metal (MSM) metasurface with Fabry-Perot (F-P) and multiple plasmonic resonant modes to achieve multiband stealth technology. Different colors are obtained for printing camouflage patterns in the visible range using localized surface plasmon modes in Al disks on an opaque Ge layer. The F-P resonance of the Ge layer and an additional plasmonic resonance in the MSM metasurface result in significant infrared signature reductions.

Summary: Colloidal quantum dot (CQD) infrared image sensors are a cost-effective and high-performance multispectral imaging technology. By engineering the surface of CQDs, these image sensors enable sensing in two spectral channels through the fabrication of two oppositely facing pn junctions. Additionally, the design of an optical cavity reduces spectral crosstalk between the two channels.
