High-Performance Planar Self-Driven Visible and Near-Infrared Photodetector Based on Pb-Sn Perovskite Single Crystals

Qun Li et al.

Summary: In this work, high-quality (MAPbI(3))( x )(FASnI(3))(1-x ) (x = 0.8, 0.5 and 0.2) single crystals with low defect density and wide absorption range were obtained using 1,4-pentanolactone as the solvent at low temperature. The (MAPbI(3))(0.2)(FASnI(3))(0.8) single crystals grown at 32 degrees C achieved absorption in the UV-vis-NIR range from 200 to 1120 nm, exhibiting superior absorption capabilities among reported Pb-Sn perovskite single crystals. This work provides promising candidates for self-driven photodetectors with significant responsivities.

Stability Improvement of Tin-Based Halide Perovskite by Precursor-Solution Regulation with Dual-Functional Reagents

Xiangrong Cao et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the origin of Sn2+ oxidation in the fabrication process of tin-based halide perovskites, finding that the ionization of SnI2 in the precursor plays a crucial role. By using reductive complexes as additives, the dissociation of SnI2 and subsequent Sn2+ oxidation can be restricted in the precursor, effectively helping prepare high-quality perovskite films with low Sn4+ defect densities. Consequently, the unencapsulated TPSCs exhibit a significant power-conversion efficiency of 10.03% (certified 9.38%) and maintain 90% of its initial efficiency after 1000 hours of light aging testing.

Revealing superoxide-induced degradation in lead-free tin perovskite solar cells

Zhihao Zhang et al.

Summary: Research has shown that the stability of (NH2)2CHSnI3 perovskites degrades more severely under light/O-2 exposure compared to O-2 exposure alone, due to the generation of superoxide from the reaction between O-2 and photoexcited electrons. Strategies to suppress superoxide formation by filling V-I sites in FASnI3 have been proposed to enhance stability. Understanding the fatal impact of superoxide on the stability of Sn-based perovskite solar cells is crucial for further research and development.
