Low-Threshold Blue Quasi-2D Perovskite Laser through Domain Distribution Control

Chenhui Wang et al.

Summary: Quasi-2D perovskites composed of self-organized quantum well structures have shown promise as gain materials for laser applications. This study investigates the impact of domain distribution on the laser emission of CsPbCl1.5Br1.5-based quasi-2D perovskites. Through the use of 2,2-diphenylethylammonium bromide as a ligand, a quasi-2D film with a narrow domain distribution dominated by large-n domains is formed. This reduces the content of small-n domains and improves energy transfer. By controlling the domain distribution, blue amplified spontaneous emission and single-mode vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasing with low thresholds are achieved.

Carrier dynamics in two-dimensional perovskites: Dion-Jacobson vs. Ruddlesden-Popper thin films

Chaochao Qin et al.

Summary: Quasi-two-dimensional perovskites have unique excitonic properties and are promising materials for optoelectronic applications. However, the influence of organic spacer cations on the structural distortions and charge screening between perovskite layers is still not well understood. This study presents the carrier transport characteristics of Dion-Jacobson and Ruddlesden-Popper type perovskite layers. The results provide valuable insights for further tuning the optoelectronic properties of layered perovskite devices.

Low amplified spontaneous emission threshold from 2-thiophenemethylammonium quasi-2D perovskites via phase engineering

Chaochao Qin et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel quasi-2D Ruddlesden-Popper perovskite based on 2-thiophenemethylammonium (ThMA) is synthesized using a facile solution-processed method. Additionally, an anti-solvent treatment method is proposed to tune the phase distribution and orientation of the thin films, resulting in improved energy transfer efficiency and carrier population transfer. These findings lead to the realization of low-threshold lasers and amplified spontaneous emission.
