Examining the effects of the CLU and APOE polymorphisms' combination on coronary artery disease complexed with type 2 diabetes mellitus

Aybike Sena Ozuynuk et al.

Summary: The study found that APOE and CLU gene polymorphisms have a significant impact on the prevalence of CAD and T2DM, as well as lipid and glucose metabolism. The 82 and 84 isoforms of apoE were associated with serum lipid levels, while CLU T allele carriers showed lower glycosylated hemoglobin levels in non-CAD subjects. Additionally, carriers of the 82 isoform had a lower risk for CAD combined with T2DM, and the combination of APOE 82 and CLU T allele carriers had decreased risk for CAD complexed with T2DM compared to non-carriers.

Non-coding RNAs: The key detectors and regulators in cardiovascular disease

Linwen Zhu et al.

Summary: Cardiovascular disease is a major cause of disease-related death worldwide, with imbalances in gene expression being one of its main pathological bases. Non-coding RNAs, including miRNA, lncRNA, and circRNA, play important roles in regulating transcription and translation, and are closely associated with the pathological processes of cardiovascular diseases. Research in this area will contribute to early diagnosis and targeted treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

Summary: The deficiency of Prkaa1 in myeloid cells impacts the expression of genes involved in glucose and lipid metabolism, compromises macrophages' metabolic abilities, reduces their recruitment in various tissues, and ultimately leads to a deceleration in the development of related metabolic disorders.

Dysregulation Serum miR-19a-3p is a Diagnostic Biomarker for Asymptomatic Carotid Artery Stenosis and a Promising Predictor of Cerebral Ischemia Events

Xiaoliang Liu et al.

Summary: The study identified the diagnostic potential of miR-19a-3p for asymptomatic CAS and its predictive potential for CIE. Elevated miR-19a-3p levels were associated with severe CAS and were independent predictors of CIE occurrence. MiR-19a-3p could be used as a diagnostic biomarker for asymptomatic CAS patients and as an independent predictor of CIE.

Summary: MiR-26a expression is downregulated in MI cardiac tissues under H2O2 stress, but it can still protect against cell death by modulating the PI3K/Akt and JAK/STAT signal transduction pathways through direct targeting of PTEN.
