Interlayer-expanded MoS2 nanoflowers anchored on the graphene: A high-performance Li+/Mg2+ co-intercalation cathode material

Xianbo Yu et al.

Summary: By anchoring oxygen-incorporated MoS2 nanoflower on graphene, the expanded interlayer spacing allows simultaneous intercalation/deintercalation of Mg2+ and Li+ into/from the host material. This configuration effectively reduces diffusion barrier of metal ions, increases intercalated number of ions, and enhances structure stability. Furthermore, intercalated Li+ boosts the intercalation kinetics of Mg2+, leading to superior rate capability and cycling performance of the O-MoS2/G with high reversible capacity after 2000 cycles.
