Cubic structured SrTiO3 with Ce/Cr Co-doping for photoinduced catalytic oxidation of gaseous mercury

Jun Cai et al.

Summary: A cubic SrTiO3 composite material co-doped with Ce and Cr ions was synthesized by solvothermal method and used as a photocatalyst for the oxidation of Hg-0. The co-doped samples showed better catalytic activity and stability compared to single-doped samples, with lower electron-hole recombination rate, larger specific surface area, and smaller band gap.

Doping Rh into TiO2 as a visible-light-responsive photocatalyst: The difference between rutile and anatase

Jiaming Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, Rh was doped into rutile and anatase TiO2 crystal structures through an immersion-calcination process. The photocatalytic hydrogen evolution activity of Rh-doped rutile was found to be significantly higher under visible light irradiation compared to Rh-doped anatase. These results demonstrate the influence of crystal phase on atom doping and subsequent photocatalytic activities.

Fabrication of a Facet-Oriented BiVO4 Photoanode by Particle Engineering for Promotion of Charge Separation Efficiency

Boyang Zhang et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that facet regulation of the BiVO4 photoanode leads to improved charge separation efficiency, with the (040)-facet-oriented photoelectrode showing superior performance in terms of photocurrent and charge separation efficiency. By inserting Au nanoparticles into the BiVO4/substrate interlayer, the photo activity of the electrode was further enhanced, highlighting the potential of grain orientation assembly in enhancing photoelectrochemical activity for semiconductor photocatalysts.

Photocatalytic solar hydrogen production from water on a 100-m2 scale

Hiroshi Nishiyama et al.

Summary: Hydrogen, as an energy carrier, can be obtained through photocatalysis and electrolysis, making it a carbon-neutral energy source. While photocatalytic water splitting efficiency is low, large-scale safe production and collection of hydrogen is feasible. The essential next steps for economic viability and practical use are reactor and process optimization to reduce costs and improve efficiency and stability.
